PHENOMENAL 2020 – Discover Bremen. Meet Science.

In 2020, Bremen will be offering a window into the world of science. The historic Hanseatic city of Bremen was the first in Germany to be awarded the title of ‘City of Science’ back in 2005, and today it offers a wealth of opportunities to discover how endlessly fascinating research, experimentation, discovery and philosophy can be. Our PHENOMENAL 2020 campaign runs from January to September 2020 and will offer a variety of events for all ages.

Inspiring interactive exhibitions, pioneering technologies and rare glimpses behind the scenes at scientific institutions and universities – the programme of events has something for everyone. The Universum Bremen science centre kicks things off on 22 January 2020 with its special exhibition entitled ‘Real not fake’. Four themed sections grapple with questions such as ‘What role do predictions/hypotheses play in the design of an experiment? What conclusions can we draw from statistical data? Is science always based on experiments?’ Other highlights of the campaign include the Museums Night on the theme of ‘Phenomenal’ and exciting guided tours, one of which takes in a life-size replica of the Columbus module, Bremen’s contribution to the International Space Station.
